Officially on the the waiting list!

Today is such a milestone. Our dossier was sent off to Ethiopia today! Oh my goodness! It's actually going to happen! we are officially number 73 on the list now, but Toni says we're much lower on the list overall, b/c we want a boy and lots of families are waiting for either infants only (0-12 months) or girls or siblings groups. For all we know, we could be #20 or so of families that are waiting for boys up to 15 months. Holy shit...is this really happening! June 28th will be day 1 of officially "waiting" although we've been waiting for almost a year and half already. Wish us luck!

We got word today that our dossier has been sent to DC. Woo hoo! Only 2 more weeks or so until the dossier is in Ethiopia and our official wait time begins. They say it could be anywhere between 2 weeks and 7 months before we get our referral (match).

Well, this blog might be a surprise to many of you. We're sorry about that. But this has been a pretty long, trying process with a lot of false starts and misteps. For sanity sake, we opted to keep the process personal until the final months and weeks. We're excited that you know now. Our family is getting ready to change in a big way, and we're glad to be bringing you all in to the fold. There's still a long way to go, and once our son comes home, the journey has really just begun. Please send us good vibes.
